ChiChi Cosmetics Sea-inspired Gradient/Ombre

Hi everyone!

Here is a quick post showing one of my favourite techniques - the gradient. Some people call it ombre. Whatever, everyone is talking about the same thing: one colour (usually lighter) blending into another (usually darker) and sometimes another. I'm a big fan of finding colours which blend together well, because I don't like the look of a stark difference between colours. I feel like this defeats the purpose.

I chose something in cool tones, but summery at the same time. I wanted a sea-inspired look so I knew the best fitting would obviously be blues and greens. I ended up choosing two Chi Chi Cosmetics nailpolishes. The mint is Back It Up, and the baby-blue is Boys Boys Boys.  I did 2.5-3 coats of Back It Up as my base, then sponged both colours on until they blended nicely. This looked cute on its own, very mermaidy! I wanted some sparkle, though, because I get bored pretty quickly.

I added one coat of China Glaze - White Cap to give it an iridescent golden shimmer in the light, and I was totally satisfied! Both the photos are taken in my lightbox. The last ones taken before my wee minx ripped it to shreds!
