MASS POST! Old nail art to get me up to present time.

This photo and next: Sally Hansen Nail Prisms - Lapis Amethyst. This polish is absolutely beautiful with a colour shift from silver to blue to pink and purple. I managed to nab it at one of the biannual cosmetic and fragrance sales, but I think it's a discontinued line. Unfortunately it shows every single flaw in your nails: got any ridges or peels (as below on my middle finger) and they stand out like a sore thumb. This polish also requires about 4-5 coats for full opacity. I'm actually trying to sell it on TradeMe right now because despite its beauty it's such a bitch to wear.

This mani was my first ever accent nail! Revlon Catty for main colour, and Revlon Midnight Affair for the index accent. At this point in my life I had an aversion to accent nails, considering them pretentious and unnecessary. Things haven't reeaaally changed too much now, with my manicures mostly being one solid colour, but I do tend to mess with glitter and accents far more.
This was the manicure I decided on for my 21st birthday last year. I had never tried a water marble, or a gradient (still haven't tried that...) so solid colours on each nail it was. I'll do my best to remember the colours, but some of them I have got rid of since September!
L-R: Revlon - Revlon Red; Revlon - Siren; Dollar shop Orange; CR Gold; Jordana - Lucky Charm; CR Green; Revlon - Tidal Wave; Mode - Runway; Mode - Style Magnet; LA Girl - Glitter Purple (Unknown name)
Another accent nail! This is my first manicure showing off a polish that was highly sought after. The base of most nails is CR - Black. Accent nail is Revlon - Plummy (which is more magenta rather than the pink-purple the photo makes it out to be) and glitter is Revlon - Scandalous. I loved this manicure because Plummy matched the glitter in Scandalous absolutely perfectly! So clever :). Unfortunately because the CR polishes are cheap and nasty this chipped within a day! Terrible.
This is my "I-got-lots-of-new-polish-and-I'm-impatient" manicure. Thumb is OPI - Die Another Day. Index and middle fingers are OPI - Moonraker and Goldeneye in a glitter gradient. Last two fingers are CR - Black with Kleancolor - Chunky Holo Black and Chunky Holo Bluebell on top. It's hard to stop looking at your nails when they're covered in bits of glitter that change colour! Ahhhh. Moonraker is also one of the worst OPI polishes I've ever bought. One coat is lovely, but you need 2-3 for opacity. So when I tried to do a second coat the brush stripped the already dry first coat? Weird. Never used it again.
Here's more accent! The base is probably my favourite blue in my collection. It's LA Girl - Blueberry Fizz. The polish is scented which seems fantastic, but it actually smells a bit like some kind of solvent that street kids would huff to get high... Horrendous. But I love this polish because it takes aaaages to chip, and it's a gorgeous shimmer. The accents are two CR glitter topcoats in blue and purple.
